Article Marketing - Using Your Own Newsletters to Market Your Articles

Article marketing is a fantastic way to get the word out about what you do, and bring more traffic, prospects, publicity, and profits to your website.

One of the most powerful ways to market your articles is in your own newsletter. You are sending out your own newsletter aren't you?

If not I sure hope you use the tips in this article to start your own newsletter.

Each week in my and marketing success tips newsletter I used to the my own articles. One article is own article writing and the other article is on article marketing. This newsletter goes out every week, reaches thousands of people, keeps me in touch with my niche, and creates a stream of income for me.

One of the nice things about publishing a newsletter is that once you have the basic structure down you do not have to reinvent the wheel each week. You just fill in the blanks with new information.

Another great advantage to having a weekly newsletter is creating a newsletter archive. You can do to powerful things with a newsletter archive. One, you can use it as a sign up bonus when people subscribe to your newsletter. Once they have subscribed you give them access to all the previous newsletters on your website. The second great advantage is that when you create a new page in your website for each newsletter, that's one more page in your website with good content and your keywords for both the search engines and your ideal client to find.

Does Team Building Offer A Good Return On Investment?

When it boils down to it, return on investment is what you are looking for when investing in this area. How much does it cost, what will you get on the day and most importantly what return will you get from the activities after the day of the event?

To ensure that you get a good return on your investment, it's important to choose carefully. A lot of money spent on the wrong type of team event will be a waste and equally not enough money spent may also prove pointless.

So how do you go about deciding which is the right form for your company? Firstly decide what your objectives are. Ultimately your objectives will normally include increased profitability for your company and the link between bottom line profit margins and team building may seem initially a little vague but there is a strong link between the two.

The second question has to be what is stopping you from achieving increased profitability? It could be that everyone seems happy enough, that there is no immediate issue that you can pinpoint. It may be that you have a high turnover of staff, poor communication or low morale. This is when a tangible link between increased profitability and team building can be seen.

By selecting the right team building activity to address the issue that is stopping you from achieving increased profitability, you can see a direct return on investment. It may not be instantly obvious to you which type of team activity will address your issues, 's when talking to a professional and experienced team building company is essential.

It's then that you can outline your teams backgrounds, your objectives and what budget you have to work towards. It's then that the team building company can suggest effective and productive team building solutions for your company.

Effective team building doesn't have to be all about building a raft and getting across water, of course it can be if you'd like but as our business environment has become more sophisticated then so has team building solutions.

You have to capture their imagination, you have to engage them, to entertain them and to motivate them, make them feel that the event you have organised is worth them missing office time for and to do that you have to offer them an experience with a difference.

Team activities with a difference can span a huge range from cost effective options to top end, money's no object budgets. To the majority of clients, a budget has to be stuck to, so you need to have an activity that is tailored towards your team, a little company personalisation will go a long way into reinforcing your group that you have arranged this event for them, they will feel valued and part of a caring team.

It's also vital that you include everyone, you are always going to get people on holiday or simply can't make it but do your research and pick an optimum time to suit everyone. It should go without saying but a good team is lead from the top and so therefore it makes sense to have your key members of management present.

All too often senior managers will be busy working rather than concentrating on their most important asset - their team!

So does team building offer a good return on investment? If you follow our advice, this could give you the best return on investment that you've ever seen!

Article Marketing - Preselling Your Sales Page

One of the most important thing you can do when you are promoting your sales page or your web site is to presell it. By preselling it, I mean instead of just having a link to your web site in some advertising medium, have a sales piece, review, article, or blurb that prepares the reader to want your product when they get to your sales page.

One way to pre-sell is through the use of articles about your industry/product/service. These can and should be as short as about 500 words and should cover a wide variety of articles about your business. You can place your articles on your own site, but if you really want to gain a following, it is in your best interest to syndicate them. You can do this either by using article distribution software, or by submitting your work to several online article directories. Be sure to place a link in your article back to your business! By writing strong copy, and by getting syndicating your articles, you will draw further targeted traffic to you site. By offering information about your product and then providing a link to where the product can be purchased, you are creating a powerful marketing weapon that will help you bolster your business!

Taken together, these tips can help to drive traffic to your site by marketing your product in a variety of ways. Getting the word out and convincing people to visit your site are two of the most difficult tasks for an upstart online business, but if you can do them successfully, your conversion rate ought to be quite favorable!

Linking Strategies With Positive Results

Link popularity is used to indicate how many webpages link to your webpage.(i.e. webpages that contain your link). This is also referred to as inbound links.

Linking strategies have a great deal of importance when it comes to search engine optimization efforts. In my opinion, off-page optimization gives more weight than on-page optimization when it comes to being indexed and getting great page position on Google.

Below I have put together a few of the more popular linking techniques;

Writing and Submitting Articles

We need to get links pointing to our webpage. I have found that article writing and distributing to article ezines is a great way to get these in-pointing links.

Most of the article sites have high page rank, and this is definitely a plus and a great inpointing link.

Remember to have a link in your resource box pointing to your website, along with your other info.

Often other websites will get your articles from the e-zines/article sites, post your article on their website or in their newsletter. This gives you another inpointing link.

Product Testimonials

Writing product testimonials can also be a good way to get links pointing to your website. This strategy is a win-win situation. You gain an inbound link and you can get traffic from those reading your article

Joining forums and blogs is a great way to get more links. Get involved with-in these forums and contribute your knowledge and just make friends. Here you add your URL in your signature line, its as simple as that.

Content-Content-Content

Another natural way to get inbound links is to make sure your pages are filled with content. Relevant content and lots of it. The more content the better. People love to read and learn about whatever it is their interests are.

Other websites love linking to websites with lots of content. Especially when it is on the same subject line as their readers are looking for. Useful unique content is King! This also will look good in the eyes of search engines and possibly increase your keyword search ranking.

Reciprocal Linking

Reciprocal linking strategies involves exchanging links with other relevant websites. We don't want to exchange links with just any website. For example if we are a garden website we don't want to link to a mechanics website, no relevance.

We have to be careful about deciding to who we link to. The higher page rank the better off we will be. We don't want to reciprocate with page rank 0 websites. There is a good chance these websites are banned or in bad neighborhoods. Stay away from link-farms.

When trading links you have to make sure you use your main keywords in the link pointing to your site. These keywords should also be found in your title and description tags.

I hope these strategies I have laid out help you in your on-line business adventures. See you on the other side.

Targeted Article Marketing - Discover 3 Interesting Secrets to Make Money with Article Marketing

Article marketing is one of the greatest and most effective ways in creating avalanches of leads. It is being used by millions of people in promoting affiliate products to generate commission, making money through AdSense, and generating qualified traffic to their website.

Here are the 3 interesting secrets to make money with article marketing:

1. Kick-start your articles with compelling titles. Experts agree that as an article marketer, you should understand that your titles are your most effective tools in getting people to notice your content. Thus, pay close attention to them and make sure that they are interesting and attention-grabbing.

2. Make your first paragraph equally interesting. Online users are known to have short attention span. If you can't offer them something that they will find valuable in the first 100 words of your articles, they will quickly click that big X button on the upper right hand of their screen and move to the next article. You don't want this to happen to you as you would like them to read your articles in their entirety to increase the chances of your resource box being clicked. So, offer your readers the juiciest details on your first paragraph. If possible, spill in everything they need to know in the first 100 words of your articles. This will keep them interested and hopefully, this will compel them to click on your resource box.

3. Keep your articles short. As mentioned a while ago, people online have short attention span and they would like to get the information they need upfront. If you can offer them article than runs 300 words that contain all the information they need, the better. Based on researches and studies, short articles are preferred by more than 87% of online users.

Profitable Article Marketing - Announcing Great Secrets to Impact Your Article Marketing

If there is one marketing tool that can help you improve your website's traffic, pull up your search engine ranking, increase your sales potentials and online revenue even if you don't have huge marketing budget nor technical skills, it would be article marketing.

1. To boost your click through rate, you need to give your articles attention-grabbing titles. This is to ensure that you will be able to attract online users to open and read your content. Here are the characteristics of a great title: It must be concise, direct to the point, keyword-rich, intriguing, and most importantly, it must have the ability to communicate the gist of your content.

2. One of your objectives in marketing your articles is to establish your expertise on your chosen niche so your potential clients will trust you. This can be done by making sure that your articles are content-rich, informative, useful, and highly relevant to the interests and needs of your target market.

3. You would want your readers to visit your website after they have read your articles. Drive them to click your URL by making your resource box compelling and enticing. Communicate the benefits and the kind of information they can get from your website. Don't forget to include your name, the problems you solve, your expertise, and your desire to help.

4. Write more. In article marketing, each submission grants you at least one inbound link. So, it follows that the more articles you write and submit, the better your chances of connecting to your target market and increasing your traffic.

5. Pick the best submission sites. Not all publishing sites are created equal. While some can give your articles the exposure they need, there are some which are not even indexed by search engines. Don't waste your valuable time on these sites and stick with the ones that are highly visited and trusted.

Lucrative Article Marketing - Uncover 5 Reliable Methods to Advance with Article Marketing

If you have been using article marketing in promoting your products or website but can seem to generate the kind of interest and traffic that you were hoping for, let me help you increase the benefits you get - from increased page views, improved sales potential, and higher page ranking - by tenfold. Just follow these 5 reliable methods and you'll surely advance in this technique:

1. Anchor text vs. absolute URL. What are you using in your resource box? Based on studies and researches, the use of anchor text is more effective that using absolute URL. Aside from the fact that they look good on human eyes because they are based on keywords, they are also favored by search engines.

2. Make your articles scannable. Online users do have little time to spare when they search for information online. They appreciate articles that are scannable so they can easily skim through the information without spending so much time reading the whole article. Break your articles into short paragraphs and use bullet list to make your articles not only scannable but also easy on the eyes.

3. Maximize your resource box. Most article submission sites will allow you to use up to three hyperlinks on your author box. Take advantage of this to increase the chances of your website's URL being clicked.

4. Keep your resource box short. Remember, you are not writing another article. Keep it simple and direct to the point. Include your name, your expertise, and your "bait" - or the reason why readers should visit your website.

5. Give your articles compelling teasers. These will be shown, together with the titles of your articles, when an online user searched for your keywords. Tell your potential readers what is your article all about and how they can benefit from reading it.

Best Article Marketing - 4 Steps to Supercharge Your Article Marketing

The first step to win the hearts of your potential clients when doing internet marketing is to offer them information that they will find useful and communicate your expertise on your chosen niche. When you are able to help them by imparting your specialized knowledge, you will most likely to win their trust and easily convince them to do business with you. One of the most effective ways to do just that is by writing and distributing your articles online.

Here are the 4 steps to supercharge your article marketing:

1. Quality. This is the first element that you must seriously focus on to ensure that your articles will be read, picked up, and widely republished. Strive to give your readers well-written articles that are not only easy to understand by content-rich as well.

2. Titles. Your titles can either make or break your article marketing campaign. As this is the first element that your readers will be able to connect to, it is of outmost importance that you make a good impression on this part. Your titles must be able to stir the right kind of attention online that can drag people to open and read your content.

3. Empathize. If you are like most marketers who are offering product to offer solution to the pressing issues of your target market, it would help to show your concern and desire to help to your potential clients. This is to make them feel that you are genuinely concern about their welfare and it is your mission to help them.

4. Keywords. Your articles, no matter how well they were written will be left unread if no one can possibly find them online. Make your articles highly searchable by using the most searched keywords within you target niche all throughout your content.

Article Marketing - Here Is a Look at the Simple Math It Takes to Make a Good Living

Everybody has heard the 80/20 rule. One example of this is 80% of the work is done by 20% of the people. Now these have never been considered hard and fast numbers, I think that whoever originally came up with the rule probably used a little poetic license with their figures. It probably wasn't exactly 80% or 20% that was as important as the illustration that a few have always out preformed the majority.

I was also taught a couple of similar rules in the US Marines. One for example is the 10% rule. What that refers to is the fact that 10% of any group of people is always going to be the dirty birds. They're hard to work with, hard to motivate and can't be counted on.

I also learned in the Marines that the top 20% in any field almost never suffer long term unemployment and always are the top wage earners in their industries. Because of this, I have often thought about whether or not I am striving to be in the top 20% of my field. Sometimes, I have done better at this than other times.

It turns out that to be in business for yourself, requires that you be better than the top 20% just to survive. Actually, you have to be in the top 5% if you want to make it 5 years or more. What does all this have to do with article marketing?

One directory has published its statistics that only 14% of its authors ever write more than 10 articles. It doesn't say, but I'll bet only about half of those make a good living from the results of the articles they write. If you are willing to accept that there is no way to get a more targeted prospect for your website, blog, or ezine, then it is just a matter of simple math for you to be able to make a great living online.

Make your goal to get good at writing articles. Buy books, listen to audios, find people that can help you by offering to edit your work, so you can learn and get better, and then you will start to make money on the Internet, it's that simple.

What if Dan Iverson could show you how to write about any topic on earth and make money? He'll teach you how to better understand human nature as it relates to e-commerce; how people, from their perspective, come to make a purchase on the Internet. I am talking about learning how you can pick a topic of interest, write about it, and with the right tools and a little research find connections between your readers and real products and services, of which you can become an affiliate and make money. Here is the best part. I will teach you all of this absolutely free. That's right, click on this link and you'll get the full Affiliate Masters Course Free. This is no joke, I promise once you start to read this course, you will see and learn the logical system of affiliate and information marketing. Article Marketing - Discover 4 Persuasive Secrets to Breakthrough With Article Marketing

One of the best ways to promote your products and website these days is through article distribution. Through this, you will be able to write articles that are closely related to your business or industry where it belongs. These articles will be then distributed through different avenues like publishing sites, blogs, and ezines. Each article will contain a resource box that will point the readers to the writer's website. If your articles are all well-written and useful to readers, you will have great chances of being branded as expert on your field and you will attract more online users to your site.

Here are the 4 persuasive secret to breakthrough with article marketing:

1. Widely distribute your articles. Aside for article submission sites, you can also post your articles on your blog, on your Squidoo lenses, and even on your website. Just find a way on how you can tell your readers that your articles are designed to be syndicated. You can also compile your articles to create your own eBook. Offer this eBook to your readers and make it your viral marketing tool by letting your readers share your book to their friends and family members.

2. Make sure that your articles are original. Never copy somebody else's work if you don't want to get penalized by major search engines like Google, MSN, and Yahoo! To make sure that you don't have a duplicate content, run your articles against anti-plagiarism websites like copyscape.com and articlechecker.com.

3. Make your articles useful and informative. If you want your articles to be reprinted and widely distributed, make sure that they offer readers information that they are looking for. Sometimes, you will need to spill your trade secrets to make your articles worth syndicating.

4. Submit articles on a regular basis. Make your readers feel that you have so much information to offer them by writing and submitting quality articles on a regular basis. This will not only help you generate more traffic to your site but it can also convince your readers that you are indeed an expert on your chosen field.

Article Marketing - 6 Strategic Ways To Write An Article In Less Than 10 Minutes

These five strategies will vastly increase your article writing speed. If you just follow these tactics, you'll start pumping out articles every ten minutes. I promise.

6 strategic ways to make a successful article in less than 10 minutes

  1. Writing in bullet points is a great way to write article faster. Instead of trying to think of a way to make a sentence that connects your last sentence to the next one, you can just put up a bullet point. This is a fast way to write an article, and readers love it when you use bullet points.

  2. Using the backspace button will decrease your articles submission rate. Try your best not to use the back space. The more you use it, the slower your article writing becomes. The backspace button is your enemy!

  3. Do not write rough drafts and brain storms. This will decrease your article writing time. By the time your done writing the brainstorm and rough draft, you could have already written more than 5 articles waiting to be submitted. So don't write rough drafts or articles. This vastly decreases your article writing time.

  4. Writing without thinking is one of the best ways to write a fast article. Don't stop to think if your last sentence was good or not. Chances are that it was good enough. Just write and don't think about what to write about. Just do it. Let your subconscious flow through your fingertips and let your hands write you a successful article.

  5. Write about something that you know about. Writing about something you have that absolutely no idea what it's about will increase your writers block and decrease your articles submission time. Write about something you know!

  6. Split up your subject into sub topics. The more sub topics you have, the better. Then once your done breaking it up, start writing about each sub topic. This is a great way to write a fast article because your not trying to squeeze in every ounce of information about your subject. Your just trying to write small fragments about your subject.

This article only took me 8 minutes to write and now I am going to be working on my next one. Just follow these strategies, and your article writing speed will vastly increase!

Designing Product Pricing Strategies, Part 2

Proposed Conceptual Framework

After five years from the publication of the established theoretical framework on designing price strategies, we now propose a new conceptual framework that will accommodate advances or new points of view as a result of studies in product pricing. The following pages will detail these.

The 3 Cs

The Cost Function

In its most simple definition, pricing should be about the bottom-line or the costs to produce and deliver the product and service offering. By knowing the costs, the marketer will be able to identify alternatives or substitutes that can be used to control these costs. But there is actually more for the interested marketer.

Successful companies are more oriented towards long-term planning. The more long-term the direction, the more active companies become. These activities increase costs. Tracking the activities of competitors, monitoring costs and profitability, and revenue forecasting have significant correlation with profit before tax. But there is evidence that the costs don't increase proportionally with the heightened activities. Knowledge of consequences of any activity will decrease probability of misdirected efforts, wasted resources and economic loss. And it is because of these reasons that guesswork and rule-of-thumbs are discouraged.

In order to accurately consider all cost factors, cost accounting is used in identifying and isolating the cost of producing goods and service. Costs include direct materials, direct labor and overhead. And overhead costs include all indirect supplies and materials of inconsequential price, managerial, transportation, clerical salaries, cost to operate machineries, building depreciation, insurance, utilities and employee benefits.

There are two approaches to costing: job and process costing. In job costing, each job is given the status of a cost center and the materials and labor are charged directly to the item produced. In process costing, costs are accumulated and spread over the all units produced.

Costs are not incurred because of an organization's processes. It is a result of the organization's desire to satisfy both an explicit and implicit need. To understand the buyer's needs, especially the most implicit of requirements, the seller must build relationships. This would lead to improved profitability when serving customers differently becomes a possibility.

Customers can be of the direct marketing and supply chain contexts. Between these, there are several dimensions of differences in customer profitability models. In the supply chain context, purchasing, carrying costs and shipment costs borne by the distributor generally vary across the supply chain; Customer characteristics such as size, decentralization of purchasing, inventory holding have a significant effect on customer serving costs; And, the execution of orders and related costs are different depending on the type and size of order.

Inventory discrepancy problems are also faced by all manufacturers, retailers and service providers face. It has important implications in marketing because many managerial decisions like purchasing the appropriate raw materials, correctly pricing products, hiring good workers, and scheduling efficient production are based on current inventory levels. This may include unreported scrap, misreported labor and production counts, unrecorded engineering changes, substituted materials and inaccurate cost standards. Add this to shipping errors, inaccurate material usage, obsolescence and unreported internal use and the costs can be really high.

And lastly, the "financial leverage" factor, which includes the use of outside borrowed funds and searching for cheap sources of funds also reduces costs.

These costs can negatively influence profitability, thus a desire to unduly increase prices.

Customer's Demand Schedule

In connection to this, the factors that influence customer profitability are volume, price/gross margins, complexity factors and efficiency factors. Customer sales have a positive association with the total service costs as customer profit margins. When price differentials adjust for service cost differentials across customers, gross margins are likely to be positive. Customer characteristics like number of orders, number of items, degree of product mix customization, number of delivery locations, may result to higher service costs and lower customer profits. High level of efficiency generates lower customer costs and higher customer profits.

Competitor's Price, Cost and Offerings

Initially, or before the actual price computation and setting, and without much computation, the marketer can elect to: (1) Sell at a premium, (2) Sell at the going rate, and (3) Sell at a discount. The direction is dependent on the effects that the marketer determines appropriate for the company's market.

Benchmarking can help assess costs to improve profitability, ensuring return on investment and assessing the impact of pricing. Computing contribution margins also play a crucial factor in analysis and strategy formulation as basis for pricing products and/or services including relative pricing of substitute products, pricing and marketing strategies in markets having elastic demand. It can be used for evaluation of incremental sale.

In the next article, we would discuss the the practical application of pricing methods and adaptation strategies observed on the retail floor.

To have a successful website on the internet you need to accrue one way links. The search engines such as Google, Yahoo and others can detect link exchanges between sites and even the new triangular link exchanges. Then they devalue those links.

Creating those one way links is the problem. It can be a very time consuming task. A one way link means that, another website chose to link to your site without reciprocation. The common reason would be that your site contains quality or unique content.

The circular problem is, in order for someone to find the content on your site they first had to get there. In order for someone to find and appreciate your content, you need to increase the traffic to your site. More people need to see it. How can we make that happen?

One way for people to get their websites seen is by writing articles. That and directory submissions are great way to bring visitors to your site.

First this is to write an article about a topic that is somehow related to your website. If your website is related to scuba diving, your article should also be about scuba diving. It should be anywhere from 400 to 700 words in length.

When the article is complete write a biography section. In fact, write about ten or twelve biography sections. Each bio should be different than the one before to establish diversity of content within the post.

After your article is complete you will want to submit your article and bio to different article websites. Those websites are allowed to distribute the articles to other website owners looking for fresh content. They can reprint the article intact with your links in the bio section. So every time your article is published, it brings a new one-way link to your website.

If you're looking for links look to directory reviews and article submissions. These are very valuable tools in establishing your online presence.

The path to an online presence begins at The Authority Directory Submissions page. Visit and while there, take a look at The Authority Travel Directory Section.

Authors and Authorities - How Can the Reader Know?

In the online article authoring world there are many different types of folks who write articles and although most of them write in order to use informational marketing to attract customers on the Internet to partake in their goods or services, the total number of reasons that people write articles is truly astounding.

Indeed, I think that anyone who makes this connection is correct in considering that authors write on different subjects for different reason and their points about the author being an expert in one or more fields but not in others also makes sense. For instance for me, I have expertise in Franchising, Small Business, Marketing, Branding, Car Washing, Trucking, Aviation, Technology, Sports Competition, Winning, Philosophy, Humanities, Politics, Economics, Innovation and various related fields. But I write about all sorts of stuff and I would say that those areas I am not so good at, it is a challenge to write a strong article, I am happy with and thus I would not obviously be any kind of expert in those areas.

Many authors believe and I concur that an author can be an expert in some domains, but not all. But how would the reader know this? Should a panel be set up at the top online article submission sites to grade author status as experts? Well, if that is feasible considering the resources involved to look over the articles and considering the "primate politics of panels" then this would solve a problem.

On one of the top online article submission sites, I noticed that there are only 3 pages of authors who have over 100 articles, then starting with only those authors of over 100 articles, it could be done fairly easy. A panel could look at those authors to find out if they were truly experts in various subjects and when they submitted articles to those categories they might be accompanied by a star?

There is a company called "Topix" which has local panels rating news, all volunteers even, and it works fine. If there were only 300 authors to rate, this is easily feasible and eventually maybe it could be taken down to 75 or 50 articles and thus someone to get to the rating system level would have to pony up and write some articles, thus also stretching them to prove they could perform and "SHOW ME" type proof of expert status.

Also remember that the author could submit which categories they feel most qualified in and the group could choose these categories based on their accomplishments in the real world and then "+" their articles? I am a firm believer in real world experience and doing over merely someone who is a "great writer" and can spin a phrase.

Lucrative Article Marketing - 5 Easy Methods to Excel at Article Marketing

If you are looking for ways on how you can obtain increased page ranking, improved targeted traffic, higher sales potential, and increased online revenue without shelling out money, you should give article marketing a try. It's one marketing method that has earned the nods of most webmasters because of its proven traffic-generating power and cost-effectiveness.

Here are the 5 easy methods to excel at article marketing:

1. You must be driven and result-oriented. Success in article marketing doesn't come overnight. You must be driven enough to consistently write numerous articles on a regular basis so you can quickly multiply your inbound links from article submission sites. It is important that you don't give up even if you don't see noticeable results within the first couple of months of writing and submitting your articles to publishing sites.

2. You must be resourceful. You need to know where to get valuable information that can help you create compelling and content-rich articles. This can tremendously help you as you should not write articles based on your ideas and opinions alone. To make your articles believable, they must be fact-based and backed up by credible resources.

3. You must be fair. Avoid personal biases on your articles so they will not sound one-sided. Stick to the facts and avoid interpreting them or overstretching the truth so you won't mislead your readers.

4. You must know how to empathize and it must show on your articles. People need someone who understands where they are coming from and understands the things that they are going through. Learn to empathize through your content and win your readers' trust.

5. You must be meticulous. You must not allow a single error to affect the quality of your articles by proofreading them before posting them online.

List Building, Little Black Books and a Really Big Chain

In the realm of once upon a time there was a term that was often used to describe a secret list of potential dates for the owner of the list. The term was 'a little black book'. The notion was picked up in movies, books and as a means of poking fun at someone else.

The idea of the little black book had, at its core, the idea of list building.

Others have used the term to describe contacts they might have in business that may be called upon when the salesman needed to reach a specific sales goal. These were customers you could count on to make a purchase if you just asked, So the salesman kept their names and only called when they really needed that extra boost.

Some things about marketing have changed, but not the idea of a list. Businesses realize they need to develop contacts that may have an affinity for their business and/or product line.

These contacts are needed if the business is to conduct an effective email marketing campaign. Because this should be an opt-in process the customer has the option of continuing to receive your email notices or be removed from the list.

I don't know if there is anything more frustrating for a business startup than to have a business in place with products to sell and customers are not beating down the doors to get to the product.

This scenario may have a lot to do with the fact that cyberspace is a really big place and it can take a while for customers to find any new business. Work hard at Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies and be prepared to wait. While you're waiting keep working at marketing strategies and seek to initiate list-building strategies that take advantage of consumer interests.

Build a little cyber black book that contains the email addresses of individuals who may be interested in your business and product line.

These names are important because they have a history. These names are not just randomly selected and placed on your list. No, these names represent either customers or prospects who have already shown enough interest in your business that they have willingly supplied you with an email address so you can contact them about upcoming sales, discounts or an expanded product line.

You wouldn't expect a business to assume that their contact list was every name listed in the phone book. While there may be potential there these business owners realize it may make more sense to work more efficiently by matching names against those who have already visited the store or made a purchase. These names provide a much better target for the business.

List building is an important means of taking small successes today and building on them for potential successes tomorrow. Virtually everything about marketing is designed to work like links in a chain. On their own they are just an oval shaped piece of metal, but together they can provide a significant ability to tow your business from startup to trusted business resource.

The Real Value of Link Building

The biggest misconception of link building is that it is solely intended to increase your rank within the search engines. The majority of us who use this train of thought would then proceed to get as many links for their site from any sources available, without understanding the real value behind carrying out this time consuming project. Not only do you obtain a large number of irrelevant links that will not benefit you, but you have wasted precious time and missed out on a lot of targeted traffic.

So what is the true value of link building? First and foremost, it should be intended to generate quality traffic for your business. If you keep this thought in mind when carrying out your assignment, then you are most certainly going to obtain relevant links along the way that will help to boost your exposure within the search engines, making it a win / win situation.

A good example would be this article. Once it is submitted to several article directories, people who are searching for information on link building will most likely read this information posted. At the bottom is a link to my site which is based on offering search engine marketing services and link building campaigns. If a reader was interested in finding out more, there is a high chance that they will follow through on my link and read up about my services. In this case, not only have I generated a quality lead, but I have also attained a relevant link from the article directory. If twenty people read my article each day and ten people where to click through to my website, then you can obviously see that the link building has done its job in attracting targeted visitors.

However, if I was to write up an article on the latest mobile phones and provided a link to my website, then there is a very high chance that a reader will not follow through on the link. A search engine works in the same respect. Just like a human visitor, why should it read up on marketing services if it's currently reading an article on mobile phones? From this a search engine can see that the link was placed for the sole purpose of link building and has no genuine relationship. As a result, no targeted traffic will come through to my site and the link will not benefit me in any way.

At the end of the day it all boils down to the quality of the link. Another good example is: if you were to have two restaurants to choose from and two different people recommending which one to eat at, you are most likely to take the advice of the person who has more authority on the subject of restaurants. In a similar manner, a search engine will follow and count the relevance of a link based on where the link to you is coming from and if there is a common factor between the sites.

The key to developing good linking strategies that will help your site's performance in the search engines is to ask yourself the following: will my link entice someone to click on it, which in turn generates quality traffic? Answering "yes" and using this methodology when carrying out your task will attract visitors interested in what you have to offer as well as collect you valuable links.

Every now again there are new methods on how to develop a successful link building campaign. At the same time, new loop holes are being found on how to exploit these methods. Eventually it will come to a point where these loop holes cease to exist. So to avoid getting caught up in the confusion, working toward a campaign that is totally focused on generating quality traffic is the best way to ensure that you are not wasting your time and hard earned dollars with attaining pointless links.

Article Marketing - How Do I Get Started in Article Marketing and Internet Marketing?

I hear this so often, and many folks don't get started because they don't know where to start. They get confused. If you sign up for a few lists, you end up getting the product of the day that will change your life and you must have if you're going to be successful. It's very confusing.

I saw a presentation recently that was proposing to teach all of internet marketing, and they mentioned 40 different entry points. That's a lot to have to manage.

One of the ways around that is to pick one that's a gateway into the rest and get going. That allows you to cut the noise, because if you're listening to everybody and listening to every offer and getting everything, like I did at first - I wish I hadn't done that years ago - you wind up confused, feeling like you're busy, feeling like you're stressed, feeling like you're doing a lot, but not having great results.

Here's a 2-step process to get started:

  • Look around, do your due diligence, do your research, listen to some people, find the people that you can relate to and connect with, pick one and focus.
  • Stay in massive action.

If you do things, you'll move ahead. Now while you're in massive action you've got to be willing to fail sometimes.

I was talking to Matt Bacak the other day. His first teleseminar - this is a guy who can pull thousands now - just three or four years ago had 6 people on it, and half of them were relatives.

Some things will work, some things won't. The quicker you find out what doesn't, in other words the quicker you fail at some things, the quicker you'll find out what works.

Building Link Popularity Strategy Secrets

Building a link popularity strategy these days has become very difficult and time consuming. The search engines have evolved and it is much more difficult to cheat the system that prevents spam websites from appearing at the top of search engines. This has made a successful link popularity campaign a lot more tedious and more work than previously. However, you do not have to be a search engine optimization expert to get good good rankings. Follow these link popularity basics and you will get good search engine rankings over a long period of time.

Google mentions on their site that a link from Yahoo and Open Directory constitutes as a vote of quality as in the Google webmaster guidelines. Get listed in the two most important directories on the web. Google favours older websites and applies a sandbox filter for new sites making it difficult for webmasters to spam the search engine. It can take a new website up to 12 months to rank well in the organic listings. A link from these websites will definitely help new websites to break out of the Google sandbox.

List your website in second tier directories like Best Of The Web, Business.com, MSN BCentral and Gimpsy. You can also list your website in a few third tier directories like Joeant and UncoverTheNet.

Do a newsworthy press release to obtain free publicity and get good quality links pointing to your website. You can get good quality free links from PRLeap and I-Newswire. It costs $80 dollars to get a good quality link from PRWeb.

Google trusts Wikipedia even more than Open Directory. Getting a link here will definitely boost your rankings. However if you submit a link for your home page it will very likely be removed and considered as spam. The secret to getting listed in Wikipedia is to have a very professional and informative article on a niche topic. Then in the niche category on Wikipedia you can suggest your article as an external link and you will still find your link in a months time.

Search for popular forums related to your niche. Register for them and create a signature with anchor text based on your keywords. Submit regular informative posts and helpful. You will gain link popularity and people who read your posts will also click on to your website.

Do a search on Google for the top websites for your related niche and get those websites to link to you. On topic links will boost your search engine rankings, but avoid too much reciprocal linking as Google will penalize you.

You can write your way using articles to the top of search engines. Submit your polished article to the major article directories like Ezinearticles, Goarticles, Article Dashboard and Article Alley. You will good quality links pointing back to your website.

List Building: Tools to Make Your Online Life Simpler

As you probably already know, list building is the most important thing you need to do for your business, whether it's an online business or an offline business. Of course, when I write about list building, it's usually the online kind because that's the kind of business I'm very good at and know very well.

With that being said, what are some of the ways you enhance your list building efforts?

  • Articles
  • Blogging
  • Ezine Advertising
  • Direct Mail
  • Press Releases
  • Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
  • Pay per Click
Now, these are only 7 of the 17 ways that I've identified that will drive traffic to your site, but they all have something in common--input. You have to type something into your computer in order to complete information. Right? So, what I'd like to do today is give you some tools that you can find online to help you.

First, with all of these methods, you'll need a way to write your articles, blog entries, etc. But let me warn you. Don't write your entries with Microsoft Word. Word puts in all kinds of symbols and stuff that don't work well in cyberworld, at least. If you're writing for print, as with direct mail, it really doesn't matter. Word does a great job, but if you're writing something to be published online, you need a program that writes plain text with no frills.

You're probably thinking WordPad or Notepad, both of which come with all PCs. Well, you can use those, too, but I have a product that I like a lot and would like to pass that information along. The program is called "TextPad," and it works much like MSWord, but it doesn't include the strange character translations. It's free to try and about $35 to buy, but it's well worth the price.

Another great tool, which you can get for free, is Roboform. You probably already know that Roboform will save passwords for you, right? Well, did you ever think of Roboform as a list building assistant?

Well it is. You see, Roboform also includes a feature called "Safenotes." It's great for saving your resource boxes. You can just click on Safenotes and choose whichever bio you want, copy it, and paste it into your article submission form. Works great! This feature of Roboform also works well when you're submitting to directories for SEO purposes. You can just put the description of your website into Safenotes and copy and paste wherever needed.

For determining keyword density for articles, you can find many free resources, if your page is already online, but what about if you haven't uploaded it yet, and it's still plain text? You can go to EasySEO's Live Keyword Analysis and paste in your article. Add up to three keywords and find the density of each on the spot. Articles are a great way to drive traffic to your list building page, and Live Keyword Analysis will assure the right density so that search engines will find them.

Those are only a few of the tools that come in handy when driving traffic to your list building page. They're easy to use and very helpful. Save time with mechanics and increase your list building efforts in other areas. One thing you can never recover is time, and these tools will help you to be more thrifty with it.
