3 Essential Tactics For An MLM Blog Link Building Plan

There are two ways in which you can build links to your MLM blog: By following a plan or haphazardly. Your plan can be as simple as deciding just how much time you are going to spend on link building, then making the most out of that time by being organized. This is the first of four articles on a link building plan for an MLM blog. This article discusses four tactics as part of an MLM blog link building plan.

1) Forum Posts

With a little bit of practice, forum posting is easy to do.

Most forums are seriously handicapped when it comes to SEO. This is because there are often many similar threads, centered around the same core keywords, Many people use long and ugly URL's, There are very few if any links pointing to threads, most just go to the main page. Duplicate content issues exist.

Improve your chances by posting in threads that make it to the front page of Digg or other social media sites. Look for posts with high linkability value. For network marketing, you will find such posts and threads in forums like Conquer Your Niche and The Warrior Forum.

2) Social Bookmarking

Social bookmarking is easy to do and takes little time. You can post links to deli-icio-us quickly. Many social bookmarking sites, however, give your links very little juice. But even if they do, the tags on the from pages are the most popular ones, so there is a lot of competition to rank high.. Your link will be slipping to the back pages and moving its position all the time, from the first page of that tag to the 5th, 10th, 20th page and so on.

Improve your chances by building your own tag . On less used sites, your tag could end up being linked from the front page all the time, if you save enough links in that tag, your links would be just 1 link away from the front page. Add as many tags you can to every link you submit, as long as they are pertinent to the subject of the article.

3) Social Media

Social media linking can be very effective when done correctly and consistently and should always be part of your link building plan.

This strategy is not easy and requires consistent effort. Building up your profile, becoming a top user, making friends and writing good link bait are challenging and time consuming activities. The payoff, however, can be significant. If you get to the front page you get a large number of links usually, depending on your subject. The page where your link is listed can become a PR4-5 on Digg.

Build a strong profile on a niche social media site that is closely or exactly related to your blog's subject. Your readers from these sites will be highly targeted and thus more likely to subscribe or be interested in the rest of your articles. Good sites to begin with include Digg, Newsvine, PlugIM and Shoutwire. Network with other bloggers, and once in a while, ask them to vote your story, A story with a number of initial votes and a few comments is much more likely to be voted by other users of that social media site.

When you're a beginner and you're not yet quite so known, the best thing you can do is to combine great content with a good link building plan Start off with these methods and you will be well on your way toward building a large opt in list and hundreds of enrollments in your home based business.

Benefit of Reciprocal & Non-Relevant Links Killed by Google Jagger Update!

Google's latest algorithm update, Jagger dropped site rankings
dramatically of those that relied heavily on reciprocal
linking schemes and especially those that gained most of their
inbound links from limited networks of sites controlled by
single companies. Some firms routinely sold those links and
marketing firms had provided links from their own network
of sites to clients.

This type of artificial link inflation has clearly been
downgraded by Google in the Jagger update and many sites
participating in extensive purchased links as well as
marketing network links have been dropped dramatically in
rankings of competitive phrases they previously did very well
for.

Some of my own clients that had extensive reciprocal linking
schemes in place have dropped in rank quite seriously. They
naturally come running to me to ask why. When I point to their
reciprocal links directory, full of non-relevant reciprocal
linking partners, they can barely believe me that it would
drop their rank so severely. When I remind them that I had,
very early in our relationship, suggested that they drop those
link directories from their site, it is difficult NOT to smile
while saying "I told you so" to them.

One client had recently agreed to a substantial writing
project to add extensive copy and additional textual material
on their industry and products to their site. They were
ranking on page three of results at Google previous to the
Jagger update and I had convinced them that that position
could be improved by adding about 20 pages of focused and
highly relevant copy to their site. I completed that project
a few weeks ago and we're waiting for review and editing for
the new section to go live.

Meanwhile, Google completed the Jagger update and this same
client has dropped dramatically in rank for their most coveted
keyword phrases. Why? They had been participating in a large
link agreement with a single network of sites - a network that
was not relevant to their industry or their products - but
with thousands of links throughout the network pointing
one-way links to them using anchor text with their keyword
phrases included. Now that network has been recognized in the
latest Google algorithm update and the client site is no
longer rewarded for those thousands of links. They lost their
page three position and have dropped entirely off the charts.

But - and I'm smiling here - as soon as we go live with the 20
new pages of highly relevant and focused copy that I just
completed for them, I'm sure they'll bounce back in the
rankings as soon as the new section is indexed and ranked
where highly relevant and useful copy belongs. This will
clearly demonstrate the value of that added copy and is likely
to guarantee that we continue with the additional 30 pages of
valuable industry and product content I had previously
recommended. More industry focused and highly relevant content
means better rankings.

I've long insisted in my online ramblings that reciprocal
linking is a form of insanity. Thankfully, now Google has
agreed and clients are returning to have me save their
position on the SERP's. We'll first do what I recommended
several years ago and begin seeking one-way inbound links from
relevant vertical directories, industry news sites and client
partners and vendors. Then we'll add substantial relevant
textual copy - both original content and industry news,
how-to's and reviews contributed by partners and vendors.

Once they bounce back in rankings due to the added content and
new worthwhile links, I'll be smiling again along with my
clients. Maybe they'll believe me more readily when I tell
them not to look for quick fixes and easy answers. Because
it's more expensive and time consuming to do things well (add
relevant content and seek one-way inbound links) than to look
for the latest simple tricks to game the system.

Getting Started in SEO - What is SEO and How it Benefits Your Website

Having trouble getting started in SEO? Here is a little article in the first of a series I wrote up giving you layman's knowledge about how to get started in SEO. You can literally get started in SEO straight away right after you finish reading this article. Heck, I'm practicing SEO as we speak by writing this article. My aim in this article is to explain to you what it is and why you would want to think about learning about how to get started in SEO.

You need a solution to a problem. You turn on the computer, go online onto Google and type in your problem. The first page has numerous, relevant, important pages that provide you with solutions to your problem.

Welcome to the world of SEO.

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. It is one of the most popular free means of getting "traffic" to a site. In layman's terms, it means getting interested people to click onto the link for your website.

It is an important skill of Internet Marketers and Webmasters; Internet Marketers want their stuff to be bought, so they try to optimize their site to show up on page one of a search engine. Webmasters, those in charge of maintaining the design and popularity of a site, also have to be SEO specialists.

So. How do you go about getting started in SEO and getting your site to show up on the first page of a search engine? I'll tell you now that it's not easy getting started in SEO. A page that may have been number 1 a week a go may be number 2 this week. SEO should ideally be maintained regularly. That is, if you want your page to stay on top.

Without further ado, let's get started in SEO!

All content online is connected. It's a small world online, thanks to the search engines. They employ the use of mathematical formulae to calculate how "relevant" a page is. It also gauges the "importance" of a site by how many links point towards the site, ie. a site that has 10 recommendations from other sites will rank higher than a site that has 9 recommendations. But it doesn't stop there. Those 9 or 10 sites that link back to your site have to be deemed as "important" themselves to boost up your website.

Naturally, these two points go hand-in-hand; when you're getting started in SEO, try and have content that is relevant. Relevance leads to the article being deemed as an authoritative source and hence it will more likely get linked by big sites. Write to get interest, not to get traffic.

That's it for one article. To summarise, in order to get started in SEO, you have to write interesting, relevant content that would want people to link to your website, since that increases your important and subsequently, page number. Good luck getting started in SEO!

Hopefully this helps clarify for you what SEO exactly is. There is a lot contained within those three letters, but learning SEO is also helps you develop an appreciation for it. Want some proof that SEO is profitable? Or want further training to perfect your SEO understanding? Perhaps you are thinking of taking up Internet Marketing. All I can say is that being a professional Internet Marketer make ridiculous amounts of money online. SEO: The Power of the Inbound Link

Link building can be a difficult part of any Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategy. It may even be harder trying to maintain a list of those who are linking to your site.

Did you know that search engines have made this a bit easier for online business to monitor? While the procedure for each search engine may be slightly different you can learn about many of the most successful inbound links you have to your website.

For the purpose of this article I will use the Google search engine. In order to check for inbound links I will use one of my websites www.highpowersites.com. I begin by typing the word link in the search window of the search engine followed by the website name. In the end it looks like this: link: www.highpowersites.com for your website it would look like link: www.yoursitename.com

In this search there were over 10,000 inbound links on the web. This tells me the site is doing well and it helps me see which sites that feature the link are the highest ranking. If you visit other search engines you can learn how to access information about site rankings by visiting a section typically called Advance Search Options.

The affects of inbounds links shouldnt be minimized and the use of a free article directory can help spread the word about your site through inbound links. A diverse selection of expert articles is very helpful in improving SEO strategies.

Certainly there are a variety of SEO strategies to consider, but inbound links may provide a significant number of impressions and an improved number of site visitations, which can dramatically improve conversion rate with potential customers.

A great number of links to your website is often viewed by search engines as a means of gauging improved trust. Improved trust in your website will improve your site rankings.

When you have significant inbound links it means that search engine spiders comb through your site more often gaining new and valuable information that can help your overall site ranking.

Beyond free article directories a website owner might simply request affiliated websites to include a link to his/her website as a courtesy. This is not an uncommon practice and provides greater visibility for your website.

The use of a forum or blog can also provide positive inbound links for your website. This is accomplished by either posting information that may benefit readers followed by a link to a section of your website that deals with the issue or by simply placing a link in the signature box on your forum post.
