Article marketing is quite effective at creating traffic, and one of the ways it does this is by generating high search engine rankings, which lead to high traffic levels.

Now keep in mind, that for many of us, the ultimate objective of article marketing, as with any form of marketing, is to make money. However, as with any other form of marketing, there are a number of steps involved in article marketing that are necessary to take in order to achieve this objective.

It is frequently easier to solve problems by working backwards from the ultimate objective. In internet marketing, in order to make money you have to sell something. Whether this is something tangible, like a CD player, or is something less tangible like information, makes no difference. It has to be sold. To sell on the internet you generally need a website and traffic to that website. Once you have sufficient traffic to your website, and you can use the site to convince the traffic that it should purchase your product, you have solved your problem.

So where does article marketing come into this? Quite simply, it provides the traffic. It does so in two ways: it attracts visitors directly to your website, or, as an added bonus, to the web page of your choice, and also provides with you with a higher listing in search engine indexes than you would have without it. In many cases a well thought out article marketing strategy can procure you a Page One listing on Google and the other two major search engines, Yahoo and MSN.
